
JOHN SANCHEZ
SVP, Workforce and Resource Strategy
John Sanchez has been a cornerstone of CEC Energy Services since joining the company in 2012, bringing more than 29 years of operational, administrative, and leadership experience across both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining CEC, he spent 20 years with the Texas Department of Transportation, where he developed extensive expertise in organizational operations, procurement, accounting, personnel management, and infrastructure support services.
As Senior Vice President of Workforce and Resource Strategy, Mr. Sanchez oversees Human Resources, Recruiting, Information Technology, Purchasing, and Asset Operations across CEC Energy. Widely recognized throughout the organization for his unmatched work ethic, institutional knowledge, and unwavering commitment to the company’s people and operations, he plays a critical role in supporting CEC’s continued growth and operational excellence.
Mr. Sanchez is one of the few remaining employees who worked directly alongside CEC founder Tony Coonrod during the company’s earlier years as Coonrod Electric. His firsthand knowledge of the company’s history, culture, and operational evolution provides a unique perspective that continues to shape and strengthen the organization today. Over the course of his career at CEC, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Chief Administrative Officer, Business Operations Manager, Purchasing Materials Administrator, Human Resources Manager, Chief Accountant, and Warehouse Supervisor.
Known across the company as a trusted leader and problem solver, Mr. Sanchez brings deep experience in workforce development, accounting operations, safety operations, purchasing, warehousing, information systems, and organizational management. His broad operational understanding and dedication to CEC’s people and values have made him one of the company’s most respected and dependable leaders.
Mr. Sanchez earned a Bachelor of Behavioral Science degree from Hardin-Simmons University and holds the designation of Certified Senior Professional (SHRM-SCP) from the Society for Human Resource Management.
